MY WORK

Project | Trends Forecasting

This project explored the process of trends forecasting and formed a foundation for understanding how to identify threads in order to establish future trend concepts and market opportunities. From research, a written and visual Trends Overview was created based on the findings of 10 key drivers estimated to affect the mood of 2017.

My own trends book focused on the Events Sector showing a movement of change in a futuristic themed manner. I predicted a three phrase event timeline spreading across the year showing experience, locations, mood, technology, space and event legacy.

Project | Events Management

Working with a charitable organisation, a group event was planned and excuted in a live fashion in order to raise money for the chosen charity and Graduate Fashion Week.

As Event Director for my group, we worked with Breast Cancer Care and GFW to organise various fundraisers to raise money and awareness for our live event. We planned a formal club night with a sexy and erotic theme to coincide with the release of hit film 50 Shades of Grey. The night included a fashion and lingerie catwalk, pole dancing and burlsque dancing, guest DJ and prize raffle.

Project | International Retailing

Focusing on understanding the principels of trading internationally through retailing channels and the issues faced by the retailers. Upon selection of a chosen retailer, an internationalisation plan including company knowledge, consumer profiles, competition evaluation, financial information as well as chosen country of expansion, locations and entry method. A professional presentation was then given detailing the proposal to peers and lecturers.

My chosen brand was Ted Baker, and this project resulted in me securing a job with the company as a sales assistant in their Birmingham Flagship store.
