Ted Baker, Birmingham, Nov 2015 to present 

Working part time at a Ted Baker Flagship store in Birmingham city centre as a sales assistant on both men’s and womenswear. A position I secured through doing a university project based on the Ted Baker company. Duties within the store involve;
- Greeting and assisting customers across the store
- Providing exemplarly and personal customer service to all customers
- Having extensive knowledge of both men’s and women’s collections, and being flexible on working both floors 
- Using the tills to deal with transactions and handle large amounts of money
- Being involved with stock checks, handling and transfers
- Remaining constantly vigilant on the shop floor for security and other potential incidents 

 

 

Bacchus Bar, Birmingham, Nov 2014 to present 

I currently work as part of the Front of House team for a large and quirky pub in the city centre, which is part of the Nicholsons chain under the Mitchell and Butlers Company. This role involves;
-Working behind the bar serving variety of drinks
-Providing first class table service in the restaurant
-Serving food to customers in the bar area
-Undergoing regular food, drink and legal training 
-Displaying a good knowledge of beers, ales, wines and other alcoholic beverages
-Understanding the health and safety, fire procedures and legal requirements of both the building and overall company policy.

 

 

Episkopi Golf Club, Cyprus, June to Aug 2014

A summer job at a local golf club on the island of Cyprus where I worked as a barmaid, as well as helping with the maintenance of the clubhouse and its facilities. Duties involved:
-The managing of the clubhouse bar, often single-handedly. 
-Opening up the clubhouse and adjoining facilities, stock management of the bar, placing replenishment orders and cashing up the takings at the end of each week.
-Making sure the clubhouse, facilities and locker rooms were always clean and tidy to the highest of standards for members and any guests.

 

 

Swimming Pool, Dhekelia, May to Aug 2011

 A summer job at the swimming pool for the garrison in Cyprus where I worked as a lifeguard. This role involved:

- Being responsible for the health and safety of everyone using the pool
- Monitoring footfall levels, as well as constant supervision of all users
- Being responsible for stock levels and cashing up before and after each shift.
- Partaking in continual training of first aid, safety and fitness
- Often being the sole or principal lifeguard on duty

John Lewis - March/April 2014

I managed to secure position in the John Lewis Premier store in Chelsea, London where I joined their Visual Merchandising team for my previous work placement last year. Tasks and skills I leant whilst there included:
-The merchandising and product placement within various concessions to be visually strong and appealing, in order to increase and maximise sales for the brand
-The selection of clothes to be made up. and the continuous change on mannequins to create fashionable outfit builds
-The ability to strip down, clean, re-decorate and then re-dress a window display as well as internal displays
-How to positively contribute and work effectively as part of a large team, and the capability to take direction, and criticism, from peers and various senior management members.

 

 

Roman Originals - August 2012

At this placement I learnt invaluable skills which have helped me in my degree course. During my time with Roman Originals, a high street ladies fashion retailer, I had many different roles including:
-Hands on practical experience in stores
-I was heavily involved with the Visual Merchandising side during the set-up of numerous new concession and stand-alone stores in the North East.
-I spent time with the Buying department learning all about their key role and how this follows down to the individual stores
-I was taught how to critically examine and test garments in the Quality and Control department

Birmingham City University - Studying BA(Hons) Fashion Business and Promotion at BCU. Modules include; Marketing, Trends Forecasting, International Retailing, Visual Merchandising and Events Management. Expressing both creativity and business skills through presentations, group and solo projects, creation of business documents and booklets as well as organising events and photoshoots. 

 

Peter Symonds College, Winchester - Studying A-Levels in the South of England, which also provides boarding facilities for which I stayed at full-time for the whole 2yrs I was there. I gained grades BCC in Textiles, Business and History, and a C at AS Level.

 

King Richard School, Cyprus - Attending a British Forces Secondary School for 5yrs. Gained 10 GCSE's and 2 Distinction BTEC awards. All grades were A*-C, with a B grade in Maths and English and a C in Science.
